Announcing The Jess Kersey Memorial Scholarship Fund
We’ve Something For Everyone
It is with great pleasure that we announce the creation of the Jess Kersey Memorial Scholarship Fund. Jess was dedicated to basketball officiating and mentoring officials at all levels. He was well known for his “Enjoy the Moment” style and was a frequent guest of the VHSL Basketball Officials Camp, led by Hall of Famer, Mr. Jimmy Jones. Jess’ love of helping basketball officials at all levels and Steve Gordon’s long standing relationship with the Kersey family are the key factors in creating this scholarship fund.
The scholarship will provide financial assistance to high school basketball officials seeking to further their education and training as a basketball official at the high school level and to insure officials from more rural areas have the same opportunities for growth.
More details on the process of how to donate and how scholarships will be disbursed are forthcoming.
